Gladesville Occasional Child Care Service  GOCCC aims to provide flexible, affordable, accessible and quality care for children under school age.  GOCCC is an incorporated association, and the Associations Incorporation Act governs management of the Centre. A Management Committee made up of members (i.e. parents) manages the financial and strategic operations of the Centre. The Authorised Supervisor, who is responsible to the Management Committee, undertakes day-to-day management of the Centre.

As a not-for-profit organization, any earnings made by the Centre must be re-invested in the Centre, rather than being distributed to owners or shareholders.

GOCCC is licensed by the NSW Human Services to provide childcare services for children between 0 and 6, and we must abide by DOCS regulations and license conditions.

The Centre is open from 8:30am until 4pm, Monday to Friday. We are CLOSED on public holidays and for a four-week break over the Christmas-New Year period. We try to announce the exact dates of that closure before the end of November each year. We remain OPEN for all other school holidays.

Parents are required to bring food in the form of lunch and morning and/or afternoon tea for your child, depending on their hours of care. Our centre is a nut free centre.   We encourage children to feed themselves, so please provide food that your child is capable of handling. Of course, our staff will feed younger children if necessary.

We offer 2 types of bookings in our centre Permanent Bookings and Casual Bookings.  If you have any questions on issues not covered here, or would like further clarification, please don't hesitate to contact us

Imaginations Pre-School  "It is the little things that count!"  We are a boutique early childhood learning centre/ Long Day Care that provide a learning platform for your child in their early years of study. We believed in building a strong learning foundation for your child to provide a great head start for your child's future.

At Imaginations Pre-school we believe strongly in commitment to offering a service to parents/carers and the community which reflects their needs and provides the very best of individualised education and care for children aged 2-5years olds. The environment will be warm and welcoming with positive feelings of safety, love and attentive care so that parents are happy to leave their children and the children are enthusiastic and content to spend their time with us.

We believe that all children are individuals who take part in the process of developing through interaction in the educational environment to extend their understandings and knowledge. The pre-school program, therefore, must allow for the development of individuality while each child is provided with a great variety of opportunities to reach his/her full potential through all experiences, in many varied curriculum areas. The programs allow for maximum pupil interaction, especially in activities which are hands on.

Children need to be constantly supported, encouraged and positively reinforced for their behaviour and efforts so they always feel they are succeeding. This is essential in ensuring the children enjoy their time at the pre-school and at the same time enjoy the process of learning.

Contact us for more information.

PARENT INFORMATION

Kids and Poisons

In New South Wales, every year thousands of children need medical care for poisoning from products commonly found in and around the home. Most accidental poisonings occur to children younger than five, with children aged one to three at greatest risk.

Why are children more likely to be poisoned?

Young children are exploring their world and will put anything in their mouths. They also like to imitate what others do, including taking medications.

What can be poisonous to your child?

Medicines, cleaning, laundry, gardening and car products, insecticides, perfumes, paint, plants, insects and many others.

How can you prevent a poisoning?

  • Store medicines and chemicals out of sight and reach of children, at least 1.5 metres off the ground and in a locked child resistant container.
  • Use medicines and chemicals safely. Follow given instructions and return them to safe storage immediately after use.
  • Buy products in child resistant containers and use child resistant locks on cupboards or cabinets that store poisons. You can buy these at many hardware stores.
  • Ensure all products are stored in original containers and are clearly labelled. Regularly dispose of unwanted and out of date medicines by taking them to your nearest pharmacy for safe disposal.
  • Don't call medicines 'lollies'.
  • Check that the plants in your garden are not poisonous
For more information on the prevention of poisoning, call Kids Health, The Children's Hospital at Westmead on (02) 9845 3585.
